Napa vs. Sonoma Showdown 2011
Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, CA
Famous rivalries are as old as time, like the Hatfield and McCoys or the Giants and Dodgers. Just to our North, we have one of the most distinguished rivalries between two neighboring regions, both much lauded for their distinctive, world-class wines. We are talking about the long-running, though friendly, rivalry between Napa and Sonoma wineries.
At the second annual Napa vs. Sonoma Showdown, you will have the unique opportunity to try fifty of the finest wines from each region (one hundred total). Over twenty of the best wineries in the state will be on hand as we playfully pit pairs against each other with you as the final judge. Make your voice known on May 17th – do you lean Napa or Sonoma?
Over twenty of the finest Napa and Sonoma wineries will be on hand to meet this challenge with great gusto – and amazing wines. You will sample the legendary cabernet sauvignon's of Napa Valley and the equally praised Sonoma pinot's from the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. Perhaps each region has a respective advantage with those two varietals, but when it comes to chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, syrah and zinfandel it may just be too close to call. Again, that’s where you come in.
The Napa line-up includes:
Barnett Vineyards, Blackbird Vineyards, Brown Family, Detert, Green & Red, Jax Vineyards,
Round Pond, Sequoia Grove, Signorello, Steltzner Vineyards, Swanson, Terra Valentine & Vitus.
The Sonoma line-up includes:
Chronicle Wines, Collier Falls, Decoy by Duckhorn, Dry Creek Vineyards, DemuthKemos, Fort Ross Winery, Freeman Wines, Iron Horse, Seghesio Vineyards, Sol Rouge, Unti, VIE & Y3.
You won’t find a better line-up of California wineries in an intimate setting all year.
A Classic Venue
Bimbo's 365 Club sets an appropriately beautiful stage for these world-class wines. Come experience the historical splendor of this rat-pack era San Francisco institution.
AG Ferrari will be on hand presenting an impressive display of artisanal cheeses, cured meats, olives and breads. And keeping it lively, DJ Sol will be crafting his signature chill-out beats to set the mood.
We’ll also be donating a portion of the night’s proceeds to The Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund via GlobalGiving.org. There will also be a raffle of amazing wines from the night to help raise additional funds.
Uncorked Events provides a new class of public, private and corporate wine, craft beer & spirits events. Unique locations and world class wines are perfectly matched to each occasion.
