Sustainability: How to become an eco-MacGyver
Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (MDT)
We're going to start with a Quelab Yardsale at 8am, then take a break for lunch at noon. Our semi-annual yardsale is always a great time, we tend to have everything from radiation meters and oscillosopes to laptops, PDAs, books, radios, all manner of awesome and geeky stuff. Get rid of your stuff, get better stuff! Contact us early if you have things to donate or sell at the yard sale.
The event itself will start at 2pm. Feel free to swing by the yardsale early and come back around 2pm. We'll be showcasing some neat sustainability-related projects and getting crafty with upcycling and recycling a variety of materials from plastic grocery bags to empty wine bottles to make useful, beautiful items for you to take home with you. You might win some nifty door prizes too!
When & Where
Quelab is Albuquerque's first hackerspace, a place where individuals and groups can get together and work on projects, learn new hobbies, help out with projects of others, and have fun making things. Think of it as a big workshop full of fun toys, interesting people, and good times!
