New Tools for Trainers
Instructor: Barbara Jean Walsh
As Web 2.0 continues to evolve and grow, the shift toward interactivity and cooperative learning is becoming more and more prononunced. In this course, we will review some of the "old web" tools, such email, chatrooms, messaging, social networking, podcasting, and blogging.
But then we will look at ways that marine-industry trainers and educators can take advantage of new tools such as grassroots video, collaborative websites, mobile broadband, and other trends outlined in the 2008 Horizon Report, produced by the New Media Consortium and the Educause Learning Initiative.
We'll also explain how to work with e-learning software such as MOODLE to create your own courses with media-rich content and maximum interactivity.
The basic cost for this course is $200. If you are willing to create a short course and adds it to the ProBoat E-Training library of online offerings, then you may take the course for free. Contact Barbara Jean Walsh for more information.
The material offered in this multi-part work-at-your-own-pace course is also of value to managers, supervisors, and others who are looking for better ways to communicate with geographically diverse group of people.
