Bill Stern: It's Okay

Denials, questions, bridging, waffling, pimping, talking heads... it's okay. Del Close, Keith Johnstone, Mick Napier... fine. Long form, short form, midform, narrative, abstract... cool, whatever. You should be able to play how you want to play, and that's okay. This workshop will be a series of exercises, covering many schools of thought, designed to help you feel comfortable in virtually any scene. There are tools and skills that one can use to improvise in any style, with anyone else, on any stage. Let's practice, and I promise, it's gonna be okay.

Bill Stern is a native Austinite living, performing, and studying improv in Chicago where he has regular shows at iO and the Playground. He has completed the iO training center and is currently studying at the Annoyance theater. Bill has been a performer in multiple touring improv groups. He's toured to 24 states and over 50 cities, teaching many workshops along the way. Since 2000 he's spent much of his improv career experimenting with format and style, bringing innovative improv shows to tens of festivals and theaters around the country.
