Event Details

Friends and Family, Hello! I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. I certainly am- soaking up San Francisco and lovin’ life. On March 6, 2005, I will be competing in what is widely considered the most beautiful run in the world, the Napa Valley Marathon. Inspired in part by the recent accomplishment of my very close friend, Rita Patel, I have decided to take on the ultimate physical challenge. But it was Rita’s philanthropic accomplishment, raising over $4,500 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer, that did more than inspire me. I was inspired to embark on this journey in the name of something greater than myself. I will spend the next three months training and fundraising for an often overlooked cause that statistically has no doubt touched your lives in one way or another. It is an issue certainly near to my heart. The Eating Disorders Coalition for Research, Policy, & Action, is an outstanding organization dedicated to demystifying an illness that effects millions of Americans. The EDC will be the recipient of all funds raised. The EDC mission is “To advance the federal recognition of Eating Disorders as a public health priority.” Their goal is to increase access to care, increase research funding, and promote awareness for eating disorders. The EDC works in Washington, D.C., with elected officials, federal employees, national media, and national non-profits. I will be honored to run for those who work so hard to face the challenges of this illness and its societal impact. And I will be honored to do so with your help! The easiest way to contribute is to make a one-time credit card donation online. I would also be happy to personally accept the donations in any form, including per-mile pledges. Also, if you really want to get me in gear, feel free to donate per every minute I finish the marathon in under 4 hours and 30 minutes! I hope everyone has a fabulous holiday season! Also, please feel free to join my family and I in beautiful Napa for the big race weekend in March! Only 26.2 miles and many sore muscles away! Lots of love and many thanks in advance, Heather Bronwyn Warnken
