Event Details

Support the Phoenix Chapter of the National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) during our inaugural year!  One hundred of the Valley's most prominent businesswomen will gather at the Desert Botanical Garden on Thursday, April 28th at 6:15pm to kick-off the Phoenix NAWMBA chapter.  The University of Phoenix is a presenting sponsor. Additionally, some of the businesses attending include: ASU WP Carey School of Business, Televerde, and Polsinelli Shughart PC.

 

Tickets are no longer available through Eventbrite.  Additional tickets will be available at the door:

$40 for members and $60 for non-members.

 

Our keynote speaker will be Nona Lee, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Nona Lee, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Arizona Diamondbacks

Nona Lee begins her seventh season with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2011 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, overseeing all legal issues for the organization. Before dedicating her time solely to the D-backs, she served as Associate General Counsel (2000-04) and Vice President and Associate General Counsel (2004-05) for the Phoenix Suns, D-backs, Phoenix Mercury, Arizona Rattlers, Chase Field, US Airways Center and the Dodge Theater.

Lee is also active in the community, serving as the founder and past president of the Phoenix Women’s Sports Association, an Arizona non-profit organization whose mission is to help girls and women find their power through sports. In addition, she serves as a Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Women’s Sports Foundation in New York, a non-profit organization founded by Billie Jean King that is dedicated to advancing the lives of girls and women through sports and physical activity. Lee also chairs the Women’s Sports Foundation’s diversity committee, and serves on the governance and executive committees. She received the YWCA of Maricopa County’s Sports Leader Award in 2006, was recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal as one of the Women in Business honorees in 2007 and was an Athena Award honoree in 2008.
