School, union, and community leaders will have the opportunity to get to know leaders of EdWorks, First Things First, and the Institute for Student Achievement. These are intermediaries that have transformed urban high schools to improve graduation rates in other cities. This session will be conducted by Institute for Student Achievement. The Institute for Student Achievement (ISA) is the lead intermediary for the Gates $4.6 million investment to transform large high schools in Atlanta into smaller learning communities, but it has also received Gate funding to help schools in New York, New Jersey and Louisiana.
