Event Details

Does your agency have an emergency plan to direct operations during times of disaster? If not, do not make the mistake of waiting for a disaster to strike before considering your agency's emergency plan. In this workshop, you'll learn best practices for agency emergency planning and walk away with a draft of your Continuity of Operation Plan (COOP) that will establish protocols for:

  • Emergency Activation and Decision Making
  • Emergency Management Procedures
  • Management of Operations
  • Concept of Operations
  • Disaster Relief Services
  • Business Resumption/Recovery

This webinar is designed for all members of your agency: staff, board members, and volunteers are all wecome to participate.

The Center, in partnership with California Volunteers, is excited to offer this opportunity for agencies to develop a COOP, bring together community stakeholders and service providers, and increase the overall disaster resilience of Marin. You will walk away from this workshop with a resource binder, a working template for your agency's COOP plan, and hands on support to help walk you through implementation of your plan. The webinar will be more informational and less hands-on.

Agencies are encouraged to send staff and/or board members alike. Please limit your number of attendees to one participant so that more agencies can participate. This workshop is free and participating agencies will receive a $45 workshop voucher to use at a future CVNL workshop (limit one per organization).

Emmett Brady is an independent contractor that recently finished a year of AmeriCorps service working on disaster preparedness at the Center. He will be joined by Atashi Chakravarty, interim Director of Volunteer Services, as well as possible representatives from expert agencies such as SFCARD, the American Red Cross, and Marin County's Office of Emergency Services (OES).
