Leadership for a Sustainable Future – Do You Have what it Takes?Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM (GMT)London, United Kingdom |
|
Event Details
Net Impact London is hosting a participative workshop so that you can enquire into the competencies required to be an effective sustainability leader. Participants will get to better understand their own personal leadership preferences and their impact on others through interactive exercises and discussions. Attendees will also be able to complete a validated Leadership for Sustainability self-assessment online, and will receive a personalised report by email.
Research suggests that to be a Leader in bringing about a Sustainable Future it is a given that you deliver in your job – this is the entry point for you to be able to bring about change. Those people most successful in delivering sustainable change are firstly passionate about sustainability and secondly they are commercially strong – they can turn sustainability into a significant opportunity for their organisation. The leaders of the future have high levels of emotional intelligence, they are strong communicators and can inspire others. A sustainable business leader also has a longer-term horizon than is the norm, they can think through strategy to practical delivery, and are tenacious in achieving their goals.
The event will focus around a small number of core sustainable leader competencies, including:
1. Creating an inspiring and compelling future
2. Being consistent in what is said and done
3. Taking a business orientated approach
4. Being tenacious
