We need leaders who can make bold commitments, stay centered and calm in the midst of intensity, and lead the way toward a more sustainable, harmonious, and just world.

Presence-Based Resilience Intensives explore the power of resilience in a world buffeted by change. This experiential workshop is grounded in the latest resilience and neuroscience research as well as the authors’ interviews with extraordinarily resilient leaders, including business leaders, development workers in Africa, fighter pilots, and persons with life-threatening illnesses. 

Who Should Attend

Middle and senior leaders and change agents with responsibility for leading and sustaining organizational change initiatives, and who see investing in their personal resilience as key to their effectiveness.

Key Outcomes

·      Distinguish, experience, and understand six key elements of resilience

·      Apply these elements to your specific professional challenges

·      Practice methods grounded in neuroscience and the faculty’s own research

·      Design on-going personal practices to strengthen focus and resilience

·      Enter into on-going mutual commitments to action with other participants.

Design Components

This program will be highly experiential, and will engage participants through:

·  Brief presentations of current research on leadership resilience and neuroscience-based evidence for how sustainable commitments are developed and maintained.

·  Individual and partner practices featuring highly effective resilience tools that engage mind, body,  and spirit.

·  Individual and partner practices in deep listening, creative engagement, and building commitment.

·  Faculty and peer coaching around specific professional challenges.

·  Formation of follow-up accountability groups of three, who contract together for specific actions and  follow-up going forward.

·  Optional follow-on virtual coaching with accountability groups over three to six months.

Faculty

Doug Silsbee, PCC, is a thought leader in the fields of presence-based coaching, leadership, and resilience. He is a coach, trainer of coaches, speaker and author in Asheville, NC. A master teacher, Doug has worked with leaders in corporations, non-profits, small business and government on five continents. He wrote The Mindful Coach and Presence-Based Coaching.

Bev Wann, PCC is a leadership development consultant, executive coach, facilitator and Nia instructor. She has offered training, coaching and consulting services to nonprofit, governmental and educational organizations for over 20 years. She is a member of the adjunct faculty at the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia.
