Description

The 2011 Community Life Forward Conference aims to:

1. Build and strengthen networks among current and future Muslim American leaders
2. Present and connect conference attendees to leaders in the areas of Muslim American history, culture, community development, service, business, and education
3. Establish the five daily prayers in congregation, as a community
4. Provide an exposition that showcases and hosts the wares of our business and civic communities
5. Showcase and support film, art, and music that present Islamic values, history, and/or culture
6. Serve humanity through a united community service project that directly benefits local residents
7. Honor our pioneers in a substantive way for their decades of love, sacrifice, and service
8. Engage all members of our community—including children, youth, young adults, and pioneers
9. Provide an action-orientated experience that leaves attendees inspired and committed to build and advance community life

Mission

Community Life Forward (CLF) is our action-oriented name for a new dynamic Islamic conference.

The Community Life Forward Conference mission is two-fold:

- Facilitate the building and connecting of model Muslim communities by providing a platform for unification, networking, action agenda, and progress;

- Extend and build upon the distinct legacy of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.S.) and community life established in Medina, while drawing from the best expression of our Muslim American way of life.

Community Life Forward Conference

July 1 - 3, 2011 * Atlanta, Ga


REGISTRATION

Registration is inclusive of all programming from Friday through Sunday (e.g., dynamic and interactive general sessions, innovative breakouts, networking & mentoring opportunities, entertainment each day (film festival, jazz tea coffee house, culture night extravaganza, & Sunday "I Love My Family" Barbecue).  It does not include cost of meals or hotel room.  Children under the age of 4 are free.


Late Registration

Late Registration starts on June 1st and ticket prices will increase.  To avoid price increase, purchase tickets by June 8th.


Children Registration

Due to limited spaces you must pre-register for the Children / Youth Programming.

Children under the age of 4 are free.  Please be prepared to sign a child information / waiver form when picking up packages at on-site registration.


Children Programming

All children registered, MUST indicate the number of children within the specified age groupings. Due to the limited spaces you must pre-register for on-site children programming. This will insure that adequate and appropriate resources are available to all children registered. The Children's Program includes: constructive free play, arts and crafts, team-building activities, live animal presentations, music concert, science activities, creative expression, African drumming, snacks and more. Children programming will be held only during adult general sessions and breakouts. It does NOT include meals. Parents are responsible for providing all meals. This program will be conducted in partnership with D.E.E.D.S. Inc.

Youth Programming

All youth registered, MUST indicate the number of youth within the specified age grouping. Due to the limited spaces you must pre-register for on-site youth programming. This will insure that adequate and appropriate resources are available to all youth registered. The Youth Program includes: sessions on preparing for marriage, strengthening leadership skills (entrepreneurship & personal development), an open forum (an opportunity for the youth to discuss different topics and issues they choose), an innovative history project & business project they can take home, snacks and more. This program will be conducted in partnership with Kamp Khalil and the Muslim Youth Leaders Forum (MYLF).

 

Vending

Vending cost of $175.00 includes 1 6ft table (covered and skirted) and 2 chairs. Vendors must also register for the conference.  See Vendor Space / Booth rules below. 

1.     All Vendors are required to register for the Conference in addition to the vending fee.

2.     Vendor fee of $175.00 is for 3 days (Friday, July 1st – Sunday, July 3rd)

3.     Vendor fee includes space allotment and 16 ft table (skirted and clothed) and 2 chairs. 

4.     Vendor space at Conference site will be assigned based on first come, first served.

5.     Vending times are from Friday, July 1st after Jumu’ah through Sunday, July 3rd at 12 PM.

6.     In addition to Salat, there will be scheduled shut down times during the conference, TBA.

7.     Check in and setup start time:  Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10 AM.

8.     Breakdown and Check out time: Sunday, July 3, 2011 ending at 12 PM.

9.     Any material or merchandise considered objectionable to Islamic traditions and common decency will not be allowed and violators will be asked to remove them from the premises with no refund.

10.   No vending of cooked food is allowed and violators will be asked to remove them from the premises with no refund.

11.   No stoves, microwaves, cooking plates or cooking.

12.   To protect the safety and security of all Hotel guests and property, the following items are prohibited in event and function space that could create noise, noxious odors or hazardous effects (e.g., loud music, smoke or fog machines, dry ice, confetti cannons, candles, incense, stoves, microwaves, and cooking mechanism).

13.   The Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, Community Life Forward and it’s planning members are not  responsible for theft, loss or damage of participant’s merchandise, display material, valuables and other belongings at anytime i.e., before, during or after the Conference.

14.   To avoid any fines by the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, all merchandise will be removed by each vendor at the close of the Conference on Sunday, July 3rd, by 12 PM.
