18 months ago Borland's leadership team made the decision to transition its development organization 
-- 325 engineers, working on a broad portfolio of development projects from 13 different locations 
around the world -- to Agile as part of an effort to reduce development costs, boost efficiency and quality, 
and introduce more operational oversight. Today, Borland is in "the thick" of its transformation - close to 
40% of its teams are Agile -- and the benefits have been huge. The agenda will cover what Agile is and 
isn't, and how IT shops have incorporated Agile processes into their IT organizations. 

Pete will share insight into the level and nature of Agile adoption and review the challenges that IT shops 
face as they undergo an Agile transformation. Borland then provides itself as a case-study to examine the 
process, highlight some real-world benefits and review lessons learn.

About the Speaker
Pete DuPre' has 22 years of experience in applications development and in management of software 
and systems, with a BS & MS in Electrical Engineering. In a  career with rapid advancement, he has created 
complex technical solutions, managed WW development organizations, and is a former CIO of a 
Fortune 100 company. Well acquainted with international business, Mr. DuPre has developed relationships 
and built organizations throughout Asia, South America and Europe, as well as in North America. His 
speaking engagements have included multiple industry events worldwide, in particular many Gartner 
Symposiums
