On Saturday, July 19th from 8:30am to 4:30pm we will have a volunteer opportunity with Sandtown Habitat for Humanity, http://www.sandtownhabitat.org/. Sandtown Habitat for Humanity, located in Baltimore City, was started in 1989 to begin stabilizing and revitalizing the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood. They are committed to rehabilitating 350 homes within the next few years and have completed 240 homes with approximately 50 more under construction. It costs approximately $50,000 or 1/3 the cost of a traditional rehab to renovate a home, thanks to donations of supplies and our volunteer “sweat.” It is free to volunteer. Due to high demand, we only have 10 openings available and it will be on a first come basis.
