Best Practices for Small Businesses

Know the Laws Regarding Employees

This informative workshop will help business owners understand fair employment laws, enhance workplace stability, identify discriminatory behavior, and minimize the impact of discrimination in workplace environments.

Robert Nunn is a Division Manager with the City of Greensboro Human Relations Department.  He manages the Fair Housing Enforcement Division and investigates public accommodation complaints. Robert also assists the Human Relations Commission and associated committees in the development, coordination, and implementation of ordinance-related initiatives, to include grant-writing.

Building Positive Business Relationships

Relationships are at the heart of business. All your stakeholders--employees, customers, stockholders and vendors--can make the difference in success and failure. Even if you have a solid business plan and great processes in place, not understanding people can put you at a disadvantage. Learn the best practices of businesses that "get it" and thrive because of it.

Facilitator:  With a head for business and a heart for people, Corliss McGinty helps you manage your most important asset, your employees, by proactively partnering with you to get the right talent on the bus in the right seats, going to the same destination! This HR Momma travel agent keeps it simple and down to earth!

This workshop is free and open to the public.

Affordable office space is available at the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship.
