-1x World Salsa Cabaret Champion (World Latin Dance Cup)

-2010 Stevens Solo Champion

-1x 2010 Stevens Female World Salsa Competition Champion

Alien Ramirez was born in the city of Bayamo, Cuba. Her interest in the art of dancing started at a very early age. Since she was 4 years old, she never stopped dancing.

Alien started her professional dance training at the EIA (Escuela de Instructores de Arte, Cuba) where she developed her skills in several different types of dances. Some of these styles include ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern, flamenco, Cuban folklore and, of course, all Latin styles and Afro-Cuban as well as gymnastics.
Not only she trained as a dancer but also she graduated as a trained instructor.

After graduating, she worked at the Olga Alonso Dance Studio in Cuba teaching Latin dance and Afro-Cuban styles.

At the age of nineteen she arrived to the United States hoping to make her dreams come true. When in Miami, she partnered up with Nelson Gaston Vidarte with whom she obtained several recognitions and won the World Salsa Federation Championship 2004 in two different divisions. Also she won the World Salsa Casino Style Championship in Miami in 2004.

At the age of twenty one, she moved to Los Angeles, CA. She has since worked and partnered with many top professionals in Los Angeles such as Alex Da Silva, Cristian Oviedo, Rodrigo Guzman, Grizzly Hidriago and many others.

Alien, in her career as a dancer, she has worked as a dancer for several television shows, video clips, TV commercials and as an assistant choreographer for the TV shows "So You Think You Can Dance" (2005 to 2008). In addition, she teaches and conducts workshops in recognized night clubs such as The Mayan, Mama Juanas, Tapas, Cocomo (San Francisco). She has also traveled around the world teaching and performing in Mexico, Germany, Costa Rica, Colombia, Japan, Austria, Guatemala, Germany, Morocco and many more.

These days, Alien is one of the most important figures in the salsa scene. She is the director of Rumba Son y Mas and Tropidanza Dance Team. Her style is very unique and captures the attention of the public. She confessed that dancing is her way of expressing her thoughts and feelings. Her passions makes people around her love salsa even more. People not only admire her for her style but also for her sweet personality. Her dancing style implies flavor, elegance and sensuality. All her abilities and experience are combined into her very own unique style.

Cristian Oviedo http://www.thesalsasalsa.com

Cristian.gif

WORLD SALSA CHAMPION

Cristian Oviedo has taught more celebrities in Hollywood including Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisperer) and Johnny Depp in the movie Public Enemies. He has even had the fortune of working with Usher, an experience he greatly enjoyed/ Cristian has also worked on Dancing with Stars as a guest performer.

Dancer, Choreographer, Model, Actor. Cristian Oviedo was born November 19, 1979, in Cuscatlan, El Salvador. Oviedo showed remarkable range and depth for such a great performer, impressing audiences with his ability to convey complex emotions.

Behind the scenes, Oviedo pushed his dance to succeed. At first, Oviedo danced local gigs and built a strong following. He has won many competitions since 2003 with different partners. He has also dance to big artists as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, El Gran Combo, Cachao and many more. Working in Hollywood Oviedo is now a great movie choreographer, he also has been working with Dancing With The Stars.

Showing people how to enjoy salsa and making them better dancers is a goal for this former 2009/10 World Salsa Champion. The important thing is not to focus on 'the show' in salsa but instead its 'roots' and the joy of movement. The pleasure derives from the dancing connection and the great feeling of enjoyment on the stage. What constitutes a good dancer is if he can dance with anybody.
