The title of the presentation is "A New Portrait of America: A Look at an Aging Multicultural America."

Abstract: Information collected by the U.S. Census Bureau tells us where we’ve been and where we are going as a nation.  The Census and the American Community Survey (ACS) are how America knows what America needs!

The Census of Population & Housing is conducted every 10 years and is the cornerstone of American democracy.  Census data are used to distribute congressional seats among the states and more than $400 billion in federal funds every year to states and communities based in part on Census population data and the American Community Survey results.  The ACS is the largest survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau.  Since its implementation in 2005, the ACS allows the Census Bureau to provide fresh, new data annually rather than just once a decade; thus, creating more of a moving picture that shows trends and changes in community characteristics for all 3,141 counties and county equivalents in the 50 States and the District of Columbia.

There will be plenty of time for questions and suggestions as well.

Spouses and significant others are welcome. The talk is non-technical.
