Zingerman’s 3 Steps to Giving Great Service: Treating Guests Like Royalty
Zingerman’s has set the standard for great customer service in the specialty foods industry. This success has come from combining an innovative service philosophy with practical working systems, all of which are shared with other service-driven organizations through ZingTrain, Zingerman’s training and consulting business.
Zingerman’s approach has been successfully applied in a wide variety of businesses and non-profits that are committed to improving the quality of their customer service, including banks, insurance agencies, health care providers, museums, libraries, and non-food retailers.
In this special sparkspace workshop, ZingTrain managing partner, Maggie Bayless, will screen Zingerman’s newly released customer service training DVD, share some of the specific training tools and techniques that are used in Zingerman’s internal staff training and take questions from the audience. Rumor has it that she’ll be bringing samples of Zingerman’s famous sour cream coffee cake. Sign up now; we expect this event to sell out quickly!
To be fair to everyone who would like to attend, we respectfully ask that you limit your registrations to 2 people from your team.
What is Zingerman’s Anyway?
In 1982, Ari Weinzweig and Paul Saginaw opened Zingerman's Delicatessen in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Their intention was to offer a world-class corned beef sandwich in a retail space where customers would be surrounded by exceptional food. Twenty-five years later, and still rooted in Ann Arbor, the Zingerman's Community of Businesses (ZCoB) employs over 450 people and generates annual sales of over $30 million.
One of seven Zingerman's businesses, ZingTrain shares the "Zingerman's Experience" with forward-thinking organizations from around the world. ZingTrain's managing partners, Maggie Bayless and Stas' Kazmierski, bring their experience in training and organizational change consulting to help clients understand and apply the real-life systems, tools and techniques used at Zingerman's so they can make meaningful, bottom-line-enhancing changes in their own organizations.
