Organizational Development (OD) Forum - First Event of the Year!

Creating Abundant Organizations: The Search for Meaning at Work*
January 13, 2011 5:30-7:00 PM
Presenter
: Tony Cipollone, PhD, SPHR

In their recent book, “The Why of Work,” Dave Ulrich, a leading figure in the HR world, and Wendy Ulrich, a psychologist (and Dave’s wife), explore the proposition that the basic reason we all work is not money, but meaning. Daniel Pink in “Drive” makes essentially the same point about what truly motivates people. The search for how to harness people’s discretionary effort in pursuit of corporate goals is a recurring theme in the HR and OD literature.

At January’s OD Network meeting, we will discuss why we work and how, as OD practitioners, we can help leaders build abundant organizations and individuals find more meaning at work.

*Note: The $5 cost of the forum meeting includes a pizza dinner
