Event Details

 Aim:

This event will showcase and share ideas from organisations and projects currently involved in integrating sustainable food projects into social housing environments.

 The programme for the day will include:

 

  • Presentations: ‘On the National Menu’ community food projects and national policy, (Town and Country Foundation, Kent),  The Growing Spaces Project, (Medina Housing, Isle of Wight) and Food4Thought project, (The Pepenbury Charity and Kent HighWeald Partnership).
  • ‘How To’ Information Stations:  featuring food growing projects, cafes and community cookery.
  • Information stalls and networking opportunities.
  • Architecture for Humanity, London will facilitate two open sessions looking at how food growing spaces can be integrated into neighbourhoods within established communities, new projects and new builds.

Due to demand for free places for volunteers and projects:

Community food projects and volunteers: FREE

Organisations, trusts and companies:  £60.

A good lunch is always a feature of our events, and we endeavour to use caters who source locally produced food.

 Parking is available at various carparks nearby.  Fees vary. Lighthouse Arts is located in the centre of Brighton and is a  short walk from Brighton Railway Station, which has direct line connections with London and major South east stations.
