This event will start with a short tour of the grounds surrounding the Skylands Manor.  We will then explore the lavish array of flowers in the majestic NJ Botanical Gardens.  After we have had our fill of the sweet aromas we will cross the lush fields and into the trails beyond.  Our hike up to Bear Swamp lake will be about 6 miles and is suitable for beginners.  It will, however, begin with a tough climb that will bring us to an amazing view of the Skylands Estate with the Wanaque Reservoir and rolling mountains off in the distance.  The hike doesn't end there but you'll have to attend to find out more.

Who should attend:

All experience levels may attend but you must be in good, athletic shape.

The hike is classified as easy to moderate and is about 6 miles long.

The entire event will last about 4 hours.

Basic Member Cost:

$10 in advance

$20 at the door (only if there is space left)

Premium Member Cost:

$5 in advance

$15 at the door (only if there is space left)

Tickets:

There are a limited number of Tickets for sale.

Tickets are not mailed, but your name will be kept at the door.

Actual hike is subject to change depending on weather conditions, fallen trees, etc.

All sales are final.

Hike Leader:

Jeff will be leading this hike. He will do a trial run of the hike to make sure the trails are clean, etc.

Sweeper:

If needed Jeff will look for 2 volunteers to act as sweepers. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.

What to bring:

Hiking boots and water (required).

Snacks, a light lunch (you will get hungry).

A camera, sunglasses, sunscreen.
