Event Details

This year's Spring Food Stroll, will commemorate New London's rich maritime history in honor of the Custom House's 175th Anniversary. Dishes will feature the bounty of the sea, as in Tony D's popular calamari, but will also highlight the cuisines brought to our town from far away lands across the great pond. The music filling the streets will also have a salty flavor, with sea chanteys and ballads that feature the instruments taken aboard tall ships—from tin whistles to bones.

Last spring, over 950 Strollers sampled dishes from at least 30 downtown restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs. Despite the tremendous array of food, strollers worked up their appetites throughout the evening to enjoy snacks and specials ranging from mini-massages to free video emailing services provided by over two dozen downtown shops and galleries.

Food strollers will receive a Food Stroll button along with a drink coupon that can be redeemed at any of the participating venues. Buttons are $25 purchased in advance online or at the New London Main Street office. (Buttons will be $30 the day of the event.) Full-time undergraduate students & children may purchase a button (without drink coupon) at $15. (Please bring a student ID to receive your discount.)

Buttons purchased online will be available for pick up at the hospitality table in front of the Main Street office at 165 State Street (The Atrium).
