Event Details

Today is the LAST DAY to get your tickets and reserve places at the HU-Morehouse Footbal Classic Post-Game Mixer, brought to you by the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education. You don't want to miss this exclusive chance for networking and fellowship with HBCU student and alumni power brokers from the Washington-Metropolitan area.

The HBCU Digest is proud to support the inaugural Nation's Football Classic being held on September 10, 2011 at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C beginning at 3:30 p.m. Featuring the Howard University Bison and the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers, the event is a renewed black college football rivalry and the first in what could be an annually anticipated event for HBCU students and alumni in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.

Immediately following the game, head over to the corner of 14th and U Streets to join family from HBCU communities around the country at the Gibson for an exclusive, invitation-only mixer for students (21+) and alumni, sponsored by the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education. It will be a mature, come-as-you-are networking and fellowshiping opportunity to meet new friends, establish new business partnerships and strengthen ties of advocacy for our historically black colleges and universities.

Additionally, your attendance and contribution will help the Digest build its exclusive internship program for HBCU student journalists. As the crisis of limited minority voices in journalism and media grows, the Digest is prepared to offer students around the nation the opportunity to have published clips, one-on-one tutelage in editing and copywriting, and most importantly, the opportunity to receive a competitive wage for their talent.

Journalists trained today wil be the voices of advocacy and truth for HBCUs tomorrow.

Feel free to invite your circle of friends and business partners for this grand occasion. Ticket prices for the game and mixer are greatly reduced for parties of 8 or more, so If you want to reserve for your group, please email the names and email addresses of those in your party to info@hbcudigest.com. A special discount code will be forwarded to these addresses to use during checkout.

The National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher education (NAFEO) is the 501 (c) (3), tax-exempt, not-for-profit umbrella organization of the nation's Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Founded in 1969, NAFEO is the only membership association of its kind, representing the presidents and chancellors of the diverse black colleges and universities: public, private and land-grant, two-year, four-year, graduate and professional, historically and predominantly black colleges and universities.
