Introduction to Electronics (December)
Monday, December 6, 2010 at 7:00 PM - Monday, December 20, 2010 at 10:00 PM (EST)
Somerville, United States
This intro level course will focus on the fundamentals of electronics.
Classes have 3 parts - roughly an hour" of lecture followed by an hour of build time and an hour of "hang out and talk about the things I want to build afterwards for students who have specific projects in mind.
Heavy emphasis will be placed on intuitive understanding of concepts like charge, voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, inductance, gain and bandwidth. To reinforce these concepts students will learn circuit construction and debugging using breadboards and multimeters. By the end of the three sessions students should have the tools they need for most basic electronics projects.
The goal of this class will be to introduce students to the world of electronics and teach them enough about electronic components that they can pick up where the class leaves off by easily assembling their own circuits from drawings and continuing to learn on their own.
Students should bring a small breadboard to class. Electrical components will be provided by Artisan's Asylum.
