Apples, Goddesses, and Glass Ceilings

In some traditions of our childhood, woman was blamed for the loss of Eden... and consequently denied leadership roles and less than the respect fitting our powers of life-bringing goodness.  Historically, some considered woman useful only for procreation (the brain seemed a useless appendage), someone else's property, and even deserving of ill treatment.  Woman healers were burned or hung.  These images were not empowering or inspiring, or healthy, to our spirit. 
And the impact is still with us in subtle and social ways.  It's a new time and place. 

If our voices are to be heard, if our gifts are to be grown and given, if we are to be the strong and sensual and creative and amazing beings we are, our spirit has to be fed what it needs to thrive. 


 
When you can't go forward and you can't go backward, and you can't stay where you are without killing off something vital inside, you're on the edge of creation.
