LEED Certified Building Tour
Building tours and a reception will be held at the Stewart’s Building, now the Headquarters for Catholic Relief Services, an international humanitarian relief and development agency. This Baltimore-based nonprofit provides assistance to people in 99 countries and territories on the basis of need, not race, creed, or nationality. Part of the Westside Development Project, the Weinberg Foundation renovated the building in 2005, receiving the first LEED certification in Baltimore City. The 2nd LEED certification for the Commercial Interior is in process.
Join representatives from The Weinberg Foundation, Catholic Relief Services, the Design Collective, Whiting-Turner Construction, Turner Construction, Westside Renaissance, and others to celebrate and honor this historic building in Baltimore City. Master of Ceremonies is Jim Kraft, City Councilman for the 1st District.
Admission is Free! Donations to USGBC always accepted.
Catering will be supplied by The Dogwood of Hampden. A restaurant that provides real-world training for their apprentices while offering naturally inspired food that is fresh, healthy, and grown close to home. Ice Cream provided by Taharka Brothers (formerly Sylvan Beach Ice Cream)…’where urban youth take control of their lives by taking control of a business.’
