Thirst
Director: Alan Snitow, Deborah Kaufman, 2004, USA, 62min
UK Première

A deeply disturbing documentary about the threat to human safety and survival posed by attempts to privatise the earth's water. The looming freshwater crisis may be the greatest environmental and human-rights crisis of our time. Thirst tells the story of communities in Bolivia, India and the United States protesting against the powerful corporations and governments that are trying to take control of water supplies.

Is water a commodity like any other, to be bought and sold? Or is access to water a human right?

Presented in association with the Margaret Mead Film & Video Festival, New York.

Tickets will be available on the door, but seats are limited and you are advised to book in advance.

The Roxy Cinema are offering all festival-goers a half-price bottle of wine with any food order, for the week of the festival. See Roxy website for restaurant details.
