Harriman Hike, 6+ Miles

Join us for a fantastic hike in Harriman State Park.  This loop hike at the southern end of Harriman State Park follows several picturesque streams and passes by multiple viewpoints.  While on the trail we will see the Pine Meadow Lake, Lake Sebago, and Lake Wanoksink.  In addition there will be a rare view of NYC past the mountains.  More about the hike, http://www.nynjtc.org/trails/record/20031229.html.

Specs:
The hike is classified as moderate and is about 6.3 miles long.
The hike should take 4 hours.
As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape.

Basic Member Cost:

$10 in advance

$20 at the door

Premium Member Cost:

$5 in advance

$15 at the door

Tickets:
There are a limited number of Tickets for sale.
Tickets are not mailed, but your name will be kept at the door.
Actual hike is subject to change depending on weather conditions, fallen trees, etc.
All sales are final.

Sweeper:
If our hiking group is large we might look for 2 volunteers to act as sweepers. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.

Hike Leader:
Jeff will be leading this hike. He may do a trial run of the hike to make sure the trails are clean, etc.

What to bring:
Hiking boots and water (both required).
Snacks, a light lunch, etc.
Toilet paper, tissues, plastic bags for garbage, etc.

Inclement Weather:
Heavy precipitation will cancel this hike; drizzle will not. Please check your inbox for updates and the NJYP.org calendar. Tickets will be refunded.

Parking:

The lot at the Visitor’s Center is very small but you can park on the street.  Just make sure your tires are not over or on the white line or you will get a ticket.

Drive slow through Sloatsburg!  When they say 25mph they mean it!
