The Android platform has exploded in 2010 with adoption rates growing to over 250,000 Android devices being activated each day and over 100,000 applications being made available for download via the Android Marketplace.

With the recent announcement of the MonoDroid project by Novell, .Net developers now have the ability to target the fastest growing mobile platform on the market using C# and the core .Net APIs.

This presentation is intended to introduce developers to the Android platform and show how MonoDroid enables .Net developers to develop for the platform.

Topics covered include :

  • Android Architecture
  • What is MonoDroid
  • How MonoDroid works
  • MonoDroid vs. Native Android SDK
  • Android App Basics and Sample Apps

Please register with your real first and last names because you'll need to identify yourself at the Sears Tower (Willis Tower) front desk. The front desk will have the list of attendees. If you can't register in time, show up anyway and call or text Sergio (224-627-8352) early or when you get to the front desk and we will let you in (do not send email asking to be registered, we may not be able to check the email in time). We meet on the 7th floor, room 750. Ignore the front desk if they tell you otherwise.
