In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ZuriWorks honors survivors with a Big Chop to Stop Cancer Anniversary Benefit.
This event benefits ZuriWorks' Exposures Project, a traveling photo exhibit featuring the triumphant stories women of color who have battled cancer. The project pays tribute to the courage and spirit of women who are often sidelined in the fight against cancer. Join us for The Big Chop to Stop Cancer Anniversary Benefit on Thursday October 24, 2013 from 6-9 pm at 1776 (1133 15th Street NW Suite 1200 Washington, DC 20005).
6:00-7:00pm: Mix & Mingle / Live Art by Rajan Sedalia / Exposures Project Art Exhibit
7:00-8:00pm: The Big Chop to Stop Cancer featuring Johnny Wright (celebrity stylist to First Lady Michelle Obama) - get your hair cut to raise funds for The Exposures Project
8:00-9:00pm: Dance Party
Proceeds benefit ZuriWorks for Women's Health, a nonprofit organization serving women battling cancer (www.zuriworks.org). ZuriWorks' Exposures Project is supported by DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities, Howard University Hospital Cancer Center, and PEPCO.
