In case Catotcin Mountain is still closed due to the government shut down, the trip will take place at an alternative hiking location.
Like to hike but don’t have a car? Your favorite green companies are partnering this fall to get you out of town! Join local Patagonia DC guides on Saturday, October 19th on a five mile day hike to see the fall foliage of Catoctin Mountain Park. Transportation will be provided by Zipcar, with snacks provided by Trader Joes and Whole Foods. A post-hike lunch will be provided by Georgetown's Sweetgreen shop. All proceeds go directly to Kids in Parks, a program by the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation that gets kids and their families outdoors and connecting with nature.
The Zipcar vans will leave from the Patagonia store (1048 Wisconsin Ave NW) at 8:00am. Tickets are $25/person, advanced tickets required. This is an 18+ event.
Kids in Parks is an award winning, proven program that gets kids and their families outdoors and connected with nature. Established in 2008 by the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation and the Blue Ridge Parkway/National Park Service it has expanded to a network of more than 60 trails located in parks across the country.

For us at Patagonia, a love of wild and beautiful places demands participation in the fight to save them, and to help reverse the steep decline in the overall environmental health of our planet. We donate our time, services and at least 1% of our sales to hundreds of grassroots environmental groups all over the world who work to help reverse the tide.
A community of folks who've found out that car sharing beats the heck outta car ownership. Reserve cars by the hour or by the day, gas and insurance included.
