At the YWCA, we recognize that talking race is hard - so the cornerstone of our philosophy is to empower people with the language, skills, and tools to engage in honest, meaningful conversations about race.
Join us on January 24th to learn about our signature dialogue programs, Groundwork, facilitated by Justice Waidner Smith, and Mosaic, facilitated by Mana Tahaie. These parallel dialogue groups enhance participants' understanding of race, racial identity development, internalized racism, and privilege in a safe, supportive, and accountable environment. At the orientation you'll learn about the guiding principles of these caucus spaces for white people and people of color and the impact of doing this work, as well as program format and logistics. In 2014, our caucus group meetings will be held once a month, during the lunch hour (11:30am - 1:00pm) on a weekday to be determined, and there will be a sliding scale fee for participation.
