YSI Summer Science Camp 2013 - Pre-K or entering K Fall 2013 (Group A)
YSI is offering a limited selection of our most popular camps this summer. We encourage everyone to register as soon as possible to ensure that you get the camps that you want.
Group A children must have a date of birth before January 1, 2010 and be able to use the bathroom independently.
Camp times: 9:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M.
New preschool-type format for our youngest campers: four unique weeks in rotation (red, blue, green, and purple.) Each color week is offered twice in the summer and features different animals, experiments, habitats, games, snacks, and crafts.
Register for one to four weeks to explore the world through hands-on science. Experiment with water, bubbles, gak, color, light, sound, movement, and more. Get your hands messy with kitchen chemistry making snacks and other concoctions. Dig in the dirt, pick up rocks, take a close look in the grass, smell leaves, and look under bark to learn more about our natural environment.
RED: June 17-21 and July 22-26, Vasona Lake County Park and June 24-28, Alum Rock Park
BLUE: June 24-28 and July 29-August 2, Vasona Lake County Park
GREEN: July 8-12 and Aug 5-9, Vasona Lake County Park and July 15-19, Alum Rock Park
PURPLE: June 10-14, July 15-19, Vasona Lake County Park and July 8-12, Alum Rock Park
Extended Morning Summer Science Camp:
Extended Morning Summer Science Camp is being offered at both Alum Rock Park and Vasona Lake County Park this summer.
The Extended Morning Summer Science Camp runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Extended Morning Summer Science Camp is a continuation of the camp day for A campers (pre-K or entering Kindergarten). This camp allows younger campers to remain in camp for the same period of time as their older siblings. Extended Camp activities include arts and crafts, story time, indoor and outdoor games and activities, and quiet time.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
For camp cancellations the following rules apply:
- 100% of camp and extended camp fees, less a $25 administration fee per camp, will be refunded if requested by April 12
- 75% of camp and extended camp fees will be refunded if requested from April 13 to May 10
- No refund (0%) of camp and extended camp fees will be made after May 10
Because YSI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, all non-refunded camp and extended camp fees (not including administrative fees) are considered a donation as allowed by law. Upon request, a tax donation receipt will be provided.
Enrollment Change Policy:
Any change (cancelling out of one camp and enrolling in another camp) requests must be made at least 30 days before the camp start date, and are subject to availability. There will be a $25 administration fee in addition to the camp fee. Camps and extended camps are not transferable to another person.
Returned checks are subject to a $20 returned check fee.
If minimum camp enrollment is not met two weeks prior to the first day of camp, that camp may be combined with another camp or cancelled. If camps are combined two weeks prior to the first day of camp, no refund will be given. If a camp is cancelled by YSI, a full refund will be issued.
Limited scholarships are available for low income families. To apply, please complete the Scholarship Application Form and send it to YSI's office address listed within the form. Call (408) 827-5507 for more information.
