Young People & The Arts Panel Discussion
Date and time
Location
Number 1 First St
Second Floor Manchester M15 4FN United KingdomDescription
What difference does the arts make to children and young people’ lives? If we believe that art makes young people powerful, are we making it possible for them to achieve this? What is the ideal context for arts institutions, practitioners and young people to make the most of what culture can offer? Are there any barriers that prevent this from happening? If so, what can we collectively do to overcome them?
Southbank Centre, HOME and Labour Arts Alliance are delighted to invite you to join in a debate that will examine these important questions. Chaired by Dave Moutrey (CEO, HOME), the panel will include young people involved in the arts, Harriet Harman MP (Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport), Jude Kelly (Artistic Director, Southbank Centre) and Samuel West (Actor, Director and Chair of the National Campaign for the Arts).
Tea & Coffee will be provided. BSL interpretation will be available.13:45 for a 14:00 start
