Exchange City Intensified - A full week experience for students to create their own business and prepare to take over the world!!!!!!!!
- Create your own business from planning to action
- Compete against the other teams in front of Exchange City's own Shark Tank, who will award the best business ideas
- Have fun, make great friends and even meet your Civics and Government requirements for homeschooling
|Participation in Exchange City Intensified (Entrepreneurship), develop student understanding of:|
- Financial Literacy: budgeting, check writing, loans and the banking system
- Business Development: product development, marketing, staffing, revenues and expenses
- Economics: supply and demand, wants versus need, pricing
- Professional Skills: management, public speaking, customer service
This highly interactive program provides a unique opportunity for students to develop critical business skills. Throughout the Exchange City program, students will participate in workshop and breakout groups focused on:
- critical thinking and decision making skill
The program will be conducted by our awesome program facilitators at our real life learning facility situated in the heart of Historic Federal Hill in Providence, RI. Conveniently located right off I 95.
Cost: $150 per student.

We are traveling from out of town. Are there any hotels in the area?
There are many hotels in the Providence and surrounding areas for you to choose from. The closest hotel to our location is the Providence Hilton, but you may find other, less expensive options if you stay in nearby Warwick. If you need a hotel, please contact email@example.com. If there is enough interest, we will look into organizing a room block for out of town guests.
Does our child need to bring the paper ticket to the event?
If you want to bring your child's printed ticket to the program as proof of registration you can, but it is not required. We will have a registration list at the event that we will use to check you in.
What Age Groups are able to attend?
We invite all youth aged 12-16 to participate in this program.
Do we need to pack a lunch for our child?
Yes, you will need to send your child with a lunch.
Do you offer refunds?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds due to the nature of the program and registration process. If you find out that your child can not make the program, please contact us ASAP and we will try our best to accomodate you.
The program is full, but my child really wants to attend. Will you be adding another session?
Please contact us at 401-461-4224 if you are interested in registering, but there is no availibility, we will add you to a waiting list.
Do I need to prep my child for this program?
No, we will be providing all of the instruction throughout the week.

Education in Action is a non-profit organization based in Providence, Rhode Island. Our mission is to provide hands-on learning opportunities that educate and inspire youth for real world success. Founded in 2008, Education in Action has served nearly 17,000 greater Rhode Island youth to date though any one of our daytime, after-school or summer programs such as Exchange City and the Providence Transition Academy.
