Our Yoga For Skateboarders & Athletes workshop is based on a Vinyasa flow structure with modifications to address injury rehabilitation/prevention relevant to skateboarders and athletes of all backgrounds.
Instructor Bridget will guide students through a series of techniques to build body awareness and neutralize the negative physical consequences of athletic wear and tear on the joints.
Students will be introduced to breathing techniques (pranayama) that best utilize oxygen in the body through movement, beneficial yoga postures (asanas) and modifications designed to build intelligence in each part of the body to protect joints from damage.
Expect to be challenged, but not exhausted as you learn how to enhance your athletic performance through this invigorating, informative practice.
The workshop is set to classic rock, grunge and iconic tunes that reflect the Dogtown skate culture. You can expect to rock out to Black Sabbath, Nirvana and the Rolling Stones as you move through your breathwork and finish the class with peaceful music in Savasana (the final resting pose of the workshop).
