Dear 129th RQW Family Member:
Yellow Ribbon Events are intended to support both the Airman and their families. This particular event will host a breakout specific to those who are in the "during" phase of this deployment cycle, in other words, families who are waiting. For some of you, you are experiencing deployment for the first time and this event is intended to address questions and give you an opportunity to expand your support network through visiting organizations who introduce programs and services of interest to you now and during any other time in your shared National Guard career. To be eligible for Yellow RIbbon Events, your deployer must be deployed for a minimum of 90 days in the overseas location.
How does it work? Once you advise us that you are interested in attending, I will provide you the hotel name and reservations desk phone #. While lodging is arranged for our members and famlies, you are responsble for payment of lodging and travel to the event but will be reimbursed upon submission of your travel voucher. Travel vouchers will be provided at the end of the Yellow RIbbon event and I will be available to assist you in completing that so that you can enjoy the weekend.
Expenses that are NOT authorized reimbursement are: Rental Cars and Airfare.
For some of you in Northern California, this may be a treck but the types of information and the networking opportunity may not be available at any other time outside a Department of Defense Yellow Ribbon Program. We hope that the location suggests a time for family to come together and experience a break from school and work.
If you are a dependent (in other words, a military ID cardholder) , we will let your deployer's unit orderly room know you are confirmed to attend so that they may begin to publish official travel orders (you'll need this to file your travel voucher).
If you are not a dependent and your deployer has authorized your to attendance, please complete the "DESIGNATED INDIVIDUAL FORM". I will email it to you.
You will attend a full day of presentations from various subject matter experts and additonal information tables for your networking experience. We will proivde snacks and full lunch menu for you and your children and it is included in the program. All other costs outside the event is your responsbility.
FREE Childcare will be provided for children 12 and under while Teens 13 and older will be part of a well-facilitated Teen Workshop. For both, please provide your teens name and age on the ticket options provided.
Once you've confirmed that you're attending, I will provide hotel information so that you may make your reservations for you and your family.
