The Philadelphia Film Society and the University of the Arts are proud to present Passport to World Cinema, a handpicked selection of the year's strongest cinema from around the globe. Each of the monthly screenings will include a notable international film title from the recent film festival circuit and a post-screening talkback led by a local film connoisseur. The ongoing partnership, now in its second year, encourages cinematic discussion and film education among local students and audiences via contemporary masterpieces.

About the film

Brazilian filmmmaker Cao Hamburger’s beautiful new historical film follows the story of two brothers through their tumultuous journey to creat the Xingu National Park and pave the way for equal rights for the indigenous people

The Philadelphia Film Society (PFS)’s mission is to utilize film’s unique capacity to engage a broad cross-section of the community, while further providing access to powerful films from around the world in order to increase education and understanding. It does so by annually producing a top-tier film festival featuring the best of American and International cinema, programming the Roxy theater, thereby providing daily access to films and experiences from which the Philadelphia community can be further engaged and educated, as well as by offering unique and varied screenings and events throughout the year that furthers the awareness of film as an important form of artistic expression and instrument of cultural change.
