Smart Solutions Tutoring LLC
Smart Solutions Tutoring LLC is excited about new opportunities for growth during the 2012-2013 school year. For the past three years we have been business partners of various Hanover County Public Schools, and we have been part of their countywide Partners- in-Education Program. We have also forged partnerships with the Richmond Hospital Education Program at MCV, and we have been fortunate enough to run various educational programs at the North Richmond YMCA. For the past three summers, we have had the honor of working with over 600 students via Hanover County Parks and Recreation’s Youth Summer Program teaching both Spanish and children’s yoga. We have also had the privilege of working with many families at St. Christopher’s School. In addition, we were very excited to open our Writing Center in Short Pump where we teach over twenty-hours of writing classes per week to students in grades 3-8.
Though we are very proud of our working relationships with schools and various organizations in the Richmond area, the true pride of our company is the personal attention we give our individual families. Every year we assist clients, ages 3 to adult, in various academic subjects and even children’s yoga. We offer one-on-one and group tutoring. Each time someone contacts our company, we make a home visit, and meet our clients in their home environment; we listen to their needs. Our tutors are teachers by trade, and many of our instructors teach in local schools. We understand the complexity of balancing school, family and various extracurricular activities. As parents and teachers, we understand the stresses of daily school and home obligations. It is our goal to help students feel confident in their abilities and committed to their education. For the past five years we have done something unorthodox in our industry- we work with schools. Parents sign a release allowing us to contact teachers, counselors and specialists. We have had overwhelming support from school staff and parents as we work as a liaison between the home and the school. Our lessons are not pre-scripted; they are created for each client with that specific individual’s academic needs in mind.
This year we will continue our SAT prep program with master instructor, Linda Kiniry. Our January 2012 SAT class rated Kiniry a “10 out of 10.” We are also excited to build new relationships with Henrico County and Hanover County as well as several private schools and organizations in our area. We value the importance of supporting local schools and we are excited to take part in many school events.
We know our teachers have so much to offer students, parents and schools across our area. While most tutoring companies are nationally run corporations, we are a small business which thrives on personal connections. We live, grow and learn in Richmond, VA and we are excited to share our love of learning with students across our region.
