A Day of Free Workshops and Events for Writers

11am-12pm: Speed Writing. Short writing exercises to warm-up and meet the community, Coffee and donuts served
12pm-2pm: Open Work Time. Bring your laptop or notebook and write your work in progress during this quiet time. Small group work/sharing encouraged.
12pm-2pm: One on One Pitch Practice w/ Maria Romano and guests: Practice your query letter and elevator pitch in the mezzanine.
2pm-3pm: Getting Read. Your goal and how to get there. Open Q&A about the publishing process and hints/help.
3pm-4pm: Writing for All Senses. Workshop on writing poetry and prose that is textural, vivid and intentional.
4pm-6pm: Open Mic and reading by
emerging novelist and BRIO winner, Tiffany Soriano
This event is part of The Big Read in the Bronx. Participants will receive a free copy of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. (Supplies are limited.)
All welcome! Bring a notebook, a pen and your creative energy.
