WriteFest is an all-day conference for teachers, literary professionals, and administrators. Attendees will choose two morning sessions designed to guide teachers toward implementation of best practices in writing instruction. These sessions will link to the Common Core Standards across all grade levels and subjects. We'll break for lunch*, then reconvene for keynote speeches by Barry Lane, author of But How Do You Teach Writing? and Bruce Ballenger, author of The Curious Writer.
Breakout sessions feature GNOWP Teacher Consultants sharing engaging classroom-ready lessons that are Common Core aligned. There's something for teachers of all subjects and grade levels.
*This year at WriteFest, you can choose to dine on or around UNO's campus (the University Center offers an all-you-can-eat buffet for $8), or you can register for the catered Summer Institute Informational Lunch. Those interested in the Informational Lunch will need to purchase both admission and lunch tickets.
--Individual admission: $60.00
--Groups of three or more teachers from the same school, students, and GNOWP Teacher Consultants: $50.00
--Summer Institute Informational Lunch:$10
