WOUNDED HEALER OF THE SOUL
“The main interest in my work is not concerned with the treatment of neurosis but rather with the approach to the numinous…which is the real therapy.”
Author Claire Dunne will present a human spiritual portrait of Jung’s life journey, the struggles he grappled with in himself, and the pioneering consciousness he brought out of it for humanity – a psychological path to the spiritual. She will point to key episodes that shaped his life and consciousness: formative childhood woundings, his breakdown and creative breakthrough (as recorded in the Red Book), the core of his healing self-realization work, and his revelatory near death experience. She will also discuss his controversial ideas on good and evil, relationship with God, and his evolutionary transformative vision for an earth rooted and spiritually centred wholeness in humanity.
Claire Dunne’s acclaimed illustrated biography “Carl Jung: Wounded Healer of the Soul” was nominated for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and is being translated into a number of languages. It is her third book. She has lectured widely on Jung and other subjects throughout the world. Her diverse career in radio, television and film ranges from documentaries on Sigmund Freud to the history of the harp. Born in Ireland and resident in Sydney for many years, she was awarded an OAM honor by the Australian Government for her work in multiculturalism, Celtic culture and ethnic broadcasting.
