(A Jazz Musical Comedy)
Music Hal Schaefer
Book and Lyrics Bob Larimer
Music Director Randy Redd
Director Reagan Fletcher
Jack loves Rosa and Rosa loves Jack, so what’s the problem? The problem is: Jack is white and Rosa is black and the year is 1980. Attracted by a mutual enthusiasm for jazz, their romance blossoms, and the couple fall into a secret love affair. When they decide to get married, they break the news to their conservative middle class parents with great trepidation. A charismatic black minister intervenes, and the ensuing tumult finds poignant comedy in both the black pride and white backlash of the era.
