The expert staff of Looking Glass will be on hand to help you make a pinhole camera, or you can bring your already-made camera by the store for all-day fun!
We’ll be constructing & shooting pinhole cameras & developing the resulting images in our darkroom. No previous darkroom experience necessary, we will be there to help you with every step in the process! If you plan on building a camera, please bring a light-tight container to convert into a camera (cookie or tea tins work great!). We will provide everything else that you need to make your pinhole camera. For those folks who want to keep it digital and own a DSLR we will also have a number of pinhole conversion options available for purchase and some you can borrow just for the event!
We’ll have interesting props for you to shoot, or you can wander the neighborhood and find a scene that looks interesting to you. Participants are welcome to come anytime and stay as long (or as short) as they like. We do recommend that workshoppers plan on staying for at least an hour to optimize their pinhole image making success!
Fee for the event covers all materials & instruction, and we will scan & upload the image of your choice to the online WPPD online gallery for all the world to see!
Feel free to stop by the store before the event (or anytime) and ask us all your pinhole photography questions, we’ll be ready & willing to answer! And if you’d rather do pinhole photography on your own, or just want to be really prepared for the big day, we have a large supply of pinhole cameras and accessories available at the store for purchase.
