On the last Saturday of April each year at 10 am, tens of thousands of tai chi enthusiasts in hundreds of cities, in over 70 nations come together ... to breathe together ... to provide a healing vision for our world. Be a part of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day 2013.

As always it is FREE

Purposes of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day:
1) To educate the world of the profound health & healing benefits of Tai Chi & Qigong for individuals, communities, and nations
2) To thank Chinese culture for creating and sharing these profoundly valuable gifts with the world
3) To bring together people across racial, economic, religious, and geo-political boundaries, to join together for the purpose of health and healing, providing an example to the world.
4) To give a powerful example of how the power of the internet can be used to foster global health & healing.

Dr. Mary Lou Powers

Dr. Powers is the owner & director of Qi Works Studio in Greenville, SC.  She has studied Qigong with Masters Christina Barea-Young, Peyton Young, Steve "Zom" Galloway, Helen Wu, & Toni Wei.  Mary is a Level 2 Qigong instructor and a Rising Lotus Mentor, certified through The Rising Lotus Qigong in Santa Clara, CA. She teaches various Qigong forms, including Wild Goose, Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade, Daoist Five Qigong, Therapeutic Qigong and others.  Her studies with Christina & Peyton Young also included Medical Qigong Practitioners program. Dr. Powers has studied Tai Chi with Masters Helen Wu, Toni Wei, Yang Jun, Paul Lam, Marty Kidder, Patricia Lawson, Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming, Dr. Yang Yang, Jiang Jianye, as well as Dr. Aimon Kopera.  Mary Powers is certified in and teaches Tai Chi for Arthritis, Osteoporosis, & Energy through Dr Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health program, which is recognized by the Arthritis Foundation and the CDC.  She teaches Simplified Yang Style 24, 48 & 88 hand forms as given to her by her teacher Master Toni Wei of Greenville, SC (now deceased).  Dr. Powers is also certified to teach & teaches the Flying Rainbow Tai-Chi Single Fan: Essential Routine developed by Master Helen Wu.


Dr. Powers is a member of the International Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association, National Qigong Association, Greenville Convention & Visitors Bureau, American Chemical Society & AAAS. She is currently an adjunct professor for the Physical & Biological Sciences Departments at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, SC.
