World Music & Dance Festival 2013: African Music & Dance
Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
The CalArts African Music and Dance Ensemble, under the direction of Yeko Ladzekpo-Cole and Andrew Grueschow, performs traditional repertoire from the Ewe and Dagomba people of Ghana, West Africa. Special guest artist Prosper Nudzor, an exceptional drummer and dancer from Anyako, Ghana, will join the ensemble. Please join us for an unforgettable evening of high-energy, joyful drumming, singing, and dancing.
What Visitors to the Wild Beast Should Know:
Open lawn seating in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Courtyard: Bench seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Family-friendly: The environment and content of The World Music Fesitval is safe and appropriate for family enjoyment.
Picnics are welcome: The lawn of The Wild Beast Music Pavilion is a perfect place for a picnic. Come an hour early and grab that prime spot on the lawn. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Please leave the alcohol at home. Open containers are not allowed on the CalArts campus. Dress warmly: Each concert lasts approximately 90 minutes and the evening air may get chilly.
