Come celebrate MAKE magazine's 5th Annual World Maker Faire New York, showcasing creative and resourceful people in the areas of science and technology, engineering, food, and arts and crafts.

 

Saturday - September 20th, 2014 from 10am - 7pm

Sunday - September 21st, 2014 from 10am - 6pm


FAQs:

I am buying a Single Day ticket. Can I use the Single Day Ticket for either day, Saturday OR Sunday?

Yes, you can you can use your Single Day ticket for Saturday OR Sunday.


The tickets have my name but I want to give them as a gift, donate, etc., can the be used by someone else?

Yes, the tickets are transferrable. The name on the ticket does not need to be the ticket holder at the gate. If you would like to have the name on the ticket changed or removed, please contact tickets@makerfaire.com, we can update the tickets on your behalf.

 

The Family Pass says 10am-1pm for entry on Sunday. Will we be able to stay all day?

Yes, you must enter the event together as a group at the same gate for World Maker Faire with the Family Pass between 10am – 1pm, and can stay until the Faire closes at 6PM on Sunday. This pass is NOT avaible on Saturday. This is an online purchase only.

 

Can the Weekend Pass be shared between attendees? 

No, the Weekend Pass cannot be shared.

 

Are there in/out privileges at World Maker Faire?

Yes, attendees can come in and out of the Faire. They will need to get a stamp at the exit gate before leaving if they want to come back the same day.

 

What day(s) and hour(s) will Maker Faire be open to the public? 

Saturday, September 20th – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Sunday,  September 21st – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.


How do I get my tickets once I have purchased them online?
Tickets purchased on-line, will receive an email confirmation with a link to print your eTickets from your computer.  You may bring the print out of your tickets OR you may also add them electronically to your iPhone passbook if you prefer.  


I did not receive an email confirmation when I ordered my tickets, what should I do?
Check your spam or gray mail folder, in case it was misdirected. If you are unable to find it, email tickets@makerfaire.com to have it resent. Please include the name and email address used to order the tickets.


I am not able to print my tickets. What should I do?

Will there be Parking?

Yes, there will be parking at Citi Field for $10 and free shuttles provided to NYSCI to and from the event.


Will you have bike parking?

Yes, secure free Valet Bicycle Parking is available on-site.

 

PLANNING FOR YOUR VISIT TO WORLD MAKER FAIRE NEW YORK:

ATMs are available on-site.

Safety Wristbands are required for ALL activities and are available on-site.

Pets are not allowed, for their safety.

Strollers, backpacks and a bottle of water are allowed.

Wheelchairs (push wheelchairs) will be available at the event site for a nominal fee. They will be at the gates on a first come, first serve basis. There are a limited number of wheelchairs available on-site.

How much are the tickets?

Retail tickets range in price from $12.50-$40 for a full day pass. Purchase in advance and save up to $20 for a weekend adult pass and even more for groups over 15. Special Early Bird discounted prices for online ticket sales are valid through July 31st, 2014.  Advance ticket prices available online between August 1st, 2014 and September 19th, 2014. T icket prices will increase at the gate.  Buy early online for the best pricing and to avoid lines at the gates.

Yes. Tickets can be purchased on-site at Maker Faire. 

  • Ticket booths open at 9:30 a.m.
  • Credit Cards (MasterCard/VISA/Discover) and cash accepted
  • ATM machines available onsite

Maker Faire offers a variety of discounts off the full retail price. 


Group Discount  15% Discount for group of 15 or more—must be purchased by September 19th.

Maker Faire was created for people with people! Come with your friends, family, clubs, company, posse, band, organization, etc. Just follow the directions below and have a blast! To take advantage of our group discount, tickets MUST be purchased at the same time by one person in your group (minimum of 15). Please click this link and fill out a bit of information for discount availability for groups of 15 or more. Group discounts cannot be combined with any other offer. Discount tickets must be purchased by September 19th, 2014 (Midnight EST). 

 

Education Discounts 25% Discount for teachers who teach 15 or more students. Please complete the form to qualify for and receive the code.

Maker Faire offers a 25% discount for qualified teachers and your students. If you would like discounted teacher tickets for World Maker Faire New York 2014, please use the following link. You will need to verify that you teach 15 or more students in a classroom setting. Discounts cannot be combined with any other offer. Military Discount $10 OFF

Military Discount is good for all U.S. Active Duty (including all National Guard & Reservists) and retired military service members. Military Discount is $10 off all ticket types for Early Bird, Advance, or Onsite ticket sales. Sunday Family Pass $100.00 ONLINE purchase only

Valid for entry on Sunday only from 10am-1pm. Entry for up to 5 attendees and they do not have to be related/family (any age) - all must be present and enter together at the same gate when ticket is redeemed. Please note, this offer is NOT AVAILABLE for purchase onsite. This special offer cannot be combined with other discounts, e.g., Group, Education and/or Military. Sunday Family Pass is $100.00 and must be purchased by September 19th, 2014  (Midnight EST).


Maker Faire - Booster Pass Special Offering!

Become a Maker Faire Booster and help support the efforts of the Makers and the Maker Movement!

You and your guest will get to experience Maker Faire from behind the scenes and get the unique opportunity to meet Make Editors, Makers, and a host of creative and fun people involved in the making of Maker Faire.

Becoming a Maker Faire Booster entitles you and your guest (two attendees) to:
  -participate in pre-event activities  
- get a sneak peak of Makers and their projects during setup on Thursday 
- enjoy the opening Maker Dinner and Entertainment on Friday evening  
- access priority gate entrance
- gain entry to the Booster Area onsite  
- receive special "Maker Faire", Maker Shed and Make items

Maker Faire Booster passes are limited.  
Cost: $1,000 (access for two) or $ 600 (access for one)
No discounted tickets apply for this level of sponsorship.

How to I get to the New York Hall of Science?

The address for the New York Hall of Science is 47-01 111th Street, Queens, NY 11368-2950. 

Where can I park?

SPECIAL NOTE:  No parking available at NYSCI during World Maker Faire.   Use the Citi Field Southfield lot and take the free shuttle bus. The entrance to the Southfield lot is east of Roosevelt Avenue between 114th and 126th Streets.  

PARKING AT CITI FIELD:

If you are coming by car, please follow the driving directions for public parking at Citi Field. There will be a shuttle during show hours.  Handicap parking is also at Citi Field and ADA shuttles that can accommodate wheelchairs are available. Please note that parking is not available at NYSCI


BUS PARKING:

Passengers can be drop at 111th Street and 48th avenue entrance ( there will be space on 111th street for drop-off). Then pick up passengers in the same place they where dropped off. 


What are the public transportation options?

Bus

Q23 or Q58 to Corona Avenue and 108 Street.
Q48 to 111 Street and Roosevelt Avenue.
 

LIRR
The LIRR will be making stops at the Mets Willets Points station for the World Maker Faire September 20 & 21, 2014. Is there a Coat Check/Bag Check on-site at World Maker Faire?

Yes, NYSCI provides a bag/coat check at $5 per item. Bag/coat check is located at the main entrance to NYSCI. 


Will there be ATM machines on-site?

Yes, ATM machines will be on-site. To avoid waiting in line, it is best to bring cash for entrance fees and food. 


Will there be food onsite?

Yes. You will find a wide variety of food options at Maker Faire. Outside food or beverages are not permitted through the gates unless you have special medical, dietary or religious requirements.


Will you have recycling this year?

Yes. Recycling bins will be available to collect paper, plastic, and glass.
