Rachel M. Feinman – Associate at Hill Ward Henderson Attorneys at Law
Rachel is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate & Tax Group. Her practice primarily focuses on general corporate advice and mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate lending transactions. Additionally, Rachel has significant experience handling intellectual property-related transactions, namely trademark and copyright.
Prior to joining the firm, Rachel worked in the New York City office of an international firm, where she focused on mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property transactions.
Active in Bar activities and our local community, Rachel currently serves on the Model IP Security Agreement Task Force of the American Bar
Association’s Commercial Finance Committee.
She is Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Gasparilla International Film Festival. In May
2011, Rachel was appointed by County Commissioner Kevin Beckner to serve on the Hillsborough County’s Commission on the Status of Women.
When she is not in the office, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
Nicholas J. Outman – Associate at Hill Ward Henderson Attorneys at Law
Nick is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate & Tax Group, primarily practicing in the areas of banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital and private equity. Prior to joining the firm, Nick worked in the Charlotte, North Carolina office of an international law firm, where he focused on banking and financial transactions, including syndicated lending, debtor-in- possession and bankruptcy exit financing, distressed debt trading, and the financing of financial assets.
Nick is a native Floridian, raised in Gainesville, and a graduate of New College of Florida. Outside the office, Nick has been involved with Habitat for Humanity’s Young Professionals of Charlotte and is a current member of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. Passionate about technology, Nick spends much of his free time building and customizing computers.
Tom Edwards - Founder - TJ Edwards Group
Tom Edwards is the founder of TJ Edwards Group, Inc., a CFO consulting firm focusing on venture capital-backed companies. His 24 years of financial and operations experience have been focused solely on working with entrepreneurs and growth companies. This diverse blend of experience includes 9 years with Ernst & Young, LLC's tax consulting practice, 10+ years of CFO / COO roles with several venture-backed companies, and Executive Operations experience with a large NASDAQ company.
As part of his consulting practice, Mr. Edwards' team provides CFO services to 7 VC-backed companies working closely with CEOs and VC investors. Mr. Edwards has assisted in over 10 rounds of funding for clients in the last 4 years. After working with Ernst & Young, and being inspired by the Entrepreneur of the Year Program winners, Tom joined a start-up SaaS company in Denver as CFO / COO, grew the company from 7 to 65 employees while generating profits and cash flow, and then led the company through a successful sale to Ceridian Corporation. Tom then joined First Advantage Corp (NASDAQ) as Regional VP of Operations and based on quick performance improvements, was quickly promoted to SVP to manage a team of over 400 spanning 3 continents. He was then recruited back to a VC-backed start-up, sold it, and launched the TJ Edwards Group in 2008.
Tom leverages his unique blend of operational and financial expertise in developing proprietary management dashboard model that carefully correlate key operational metrics with financial data to highlight key business trends and relationships between performance and financial performance.
Tom looks forward to participating in the furthering of the ecosystem focused on paring investors and entrepreneurial companies in Florida. Tom received a B.S. from Rochester Institute of Technology.
