Working in the Sharing Economy
Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (EDT)
New York, NY
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The rise of the sharing economy has spawned a number of fast-growing organizations - Airbnb, Taskrabbit, Zipcar, and DogVacay to name a few. This rapid growth has given savvy individuals an opportunity to build meaningful and rewarding careers in the field.
Let's Collaborate! will be hosting an intimate evening with Anthony Marinos, Danya Cheskis-Gold, and Dan Pierson on their experiences working at Zipcar, Loosecubes, Skillshare, and the Collaborative Fund. Our discussion will focus on what it's like to work in the sharing economy, how you can land a job in it (with no experience in the industry), and how to further your career once you're in.
If you have always been curious about how to make the leap into the space, or just want to find out what it's really like, don't miss this rare chance to glean practical insights from those that have. This event will be held in a more intimate setting than previous events, so register early to guarantee yourself a spot!
Anthony Marinos is an entrepreneurial marketing professional who has worked at several sharing economy startups. He was one of Zipcar's first employees, worked in a unique position "Captain Awesome" at office-sharing platform Loosecubes, and currently works for forward-thinking collaborative workspace Grind.
Danya Cheskis-Gold was the second employee to be hired at Skillshare, and helped build its community to what it is today. She has consulted for sharing economy food startup Kitchensurfing and is currently the Director of Community for Spark Capital.
Dan Pierson has worked at rental marketplace Getable and VC firm Collaborative Fund, which has funded many sharing economy organizations such as Lyft, Taskrabbit, and Skillshare. From the path of intern, contract worker, employee to founder, he is inspired to open the collaborative economy model to the marginalized, the underserved, and those currently left behind in technology.
