Work Ready Communities Kickoff Luncheon (Limited Seating)
Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM (EST)
Dear Community and Business Leaders,
On behalf of Alliance Pickens, I would like to invite you to attend a kickoff luncheon for South Carolina Work Ready Communities to be held on Tuesday, January 29th, 2013 at the Madren Conference Center and Inn in Clemson from 11:30am until 1:30pm.
SC Work Ready Communities is a statewide workforce development effort aimed at preparing our workforce to meet the challenges of an ever evolving job market.
The primary tool of the initiative, the WorkKeys job skills assessment, is a three test battery that analyzes the test taker’s aptitude in the subject areas of applied mathematics, reading for information and locating information. By taking the assessment, members of the current and future workforce will now be able to quantify their skills in key disciplines, undergo remediation when necessary and ultimately become a stronger member of the workforce.
For employers, this assessment and the resulting certificate, the National Career Readiness Certificate, will add another layer confidence during the hiring process by presenting hiring managers with a credential that can be directly related to skills and qualifications needed in open positions.
The program on January 29th will include much more detail about the SC Work Ready Communities initiative and invited guest speakers include South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt, Lewis Gossett of the South Carolina Manufacturer’s Alliance as well as first-hand accounts of how local employers have used WorkKeys to improve their workforce, identify qualified candidates and lower employee turnover.
I hope you will join us on January 29th.
PLEASE RSVP BY JANUARY 22ND
Ray Farley, Alliance Pickens
