Prior to writing The Cake Mix Doctor line of cookbooks, Byrn was Food Editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for 15 years. It was during her time at The Journal that she learned to write about food and how to cook taking classes from Julia Child, Marcella Hazan, and countless great cooks and writers who traveled to Atlanta. She later took a leave of absence to study cooking in Paris at La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine. Today, she has authored more than seven cookbooks including The Cake Mix Doctor, Chocolate from The Cake Mix Doctor, The Dinner Doctor, Cupcakes from The Cake Mix Doctor, and more.
